Destination Marketing and Management: The Next 10 Years

A lot has changed since MMGY Global launched the inaugural DMO Mojo in 2010. As we move into the new decade, it is upon us leaders in the industry to identify the top practices shaping DMOs and help drive change to support our peers as destination marketing and management evolves.

Sustainability is Core to Destination Development: Let’s Start Acting Like It

The conversation around sustainability has evolved in tourism over the last year. We now look at this topic in a more integrated fashion across three distinct pillars: economic, sociocultural and environmental. During this session, Katie and Greg will talk about the changing perception of travelers, why the language we use is so critically important and showcasing some destinations that are tackling responsible tourism from all the right angles. They will close the session with an interactive survey to gauge how these issues are playing a role in the management of your respective destinations.

Cannabis Tourism: The New Frontier

Similar to the craft brewery and distillery industries in recent decades, the cannabis industry is poised for significant growth as states, cities, and jurisdictions around the U.S. vote to legalize the medicinal and recreational use of cannabis products and experiences. This panel session will explore the types of travel experiences likely to emerge in the wake of legalization, and it will offer a forum for panelists and conference attendees to discuss issues such as:

  • A DMO's role on the path to legalization
  • Cannabis product and experience development
  • Marketing & promotion of cannabis experiences

The Mic Drop: Pecha Kucha Presentations

A series of Pecha Kucha style presentations, which means you get 20 slides and have 20 seconds to present each slide. The "fun" part of the presentation is that the slides automatically advance after 20 seconds. It's actually, not as bad as it sounds. And, we let the attendees vote on their favorite presentation and award a winner at the end of Mojo.

This is your chance to have a dialog with fellow DMO colleagues on hot topics or challenges keeping you up at night. We will have thought starter worksheets for you at lunch to get you geared up and ready to participate, discuss and debate. This is all about you!
